The Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) – Tadian Campus celebrated its 19th Charter Day, last January 14-20, 2011, with the theme “Advancing IP education and Rural Development towards Self Determination” where Apiculture were featured to show the people the significance of beekeeping industry for income and job generation and environmental conservations.
Indigenous People (IP) Education Conference was scheduled January 16, 2011 Dr. Apolonio S. Sito, the Executive Director of NARTDI was one of the resource speakers who talked on apiculture in relation to IP Education and Rural Development.
The honey harvest festival was conducted January 17, 2011. The bee mascots which were flamboyantly displayed during the parade, bee sting modelled by Mr. Andres Laleo, and honey processing and tasting captivated the audience with its color and delight. Dr, Jaime C. Dangle, Dr. Lolita S. Dulay, Prof. Shirley O. Lopez, Mr. Joseph A. Panas, Ms. Agustina Dumaguin were among the NARTDI staff who assisted MPSPC in the honeybee event.
Meanwhile, Dr. Florentina S. DUMLAO the DMMMSU VP for Research and Extension and Dr. Sito delivered solidarity message during the opening program where they acknowledge the various accomplishments of the institution in their apiculture program.
