With the aim to alleviate poverty and improve the country’s competitiveness, the Commission on Higher Education allotted funds for the implementation of high impact research, development and extension (RDE) projects of State Universities and Colleges.

Under the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), the funding grant is an additional support for RDE to leading SUCs. Through CHED, the UP System Information Technology Foundation Inc., (UPSITE) was tapped to provide mentoring services to the proponents of DAP-GIA for RDE.

Dr. Apolio S. Sito, NARTDI Executive Director, Dr. Jaime C. Dangle, Division Chief, Research and Development, and Engr. Rowel M. Munar, Project Leader, Beekeeping Tools and Equipment and Management Information System Officer attended the 3-day Writeshop and Mentoring Roadshow for the Formulation of Research, Development and Extension (RDE) Proposals at Supreme Hotel, Baguio City on April 11-13, 2013.

The 3-day mentoring covered the following areas: Capacity Building: Background Study, Review/Survey of Related Literature, Theoretical Framework, Statement of the Problem, Assumptions, Signifance of the Study, Scope and Limitations, Methodology, Bibliography and Ethics; Research Outputs: Administrative Work Plan, Budgetary Outlay/LIB, Manpower Requirements and Credentials, Expected Outputs and Derivations, Schedule of Deliverables, Terms of Reference (TOR), LIB, and Presentation of Full Blown RDE Project.

Research proposals of NARDTI Staff and the proposal of Dr. Jaime C. Dangle entitled, “Enhancing the Beekeeping Program of the National Apiculture Research, Training”and“Development Institute for Improved Technology Transfer and Increased Production”, were revised and resubmitted to CHED.
